WoW has gotten some bad publicity because of all the stereotypes and that only no lifers play the game. Lets just say some of these accusations are not true, in fact there are people of every type, shape, color, religion, occupation who play WoW. WoW being so large has caused it to be appealing to many different types of players, once in a while 1 in the 10 million who play the game does something stupid which causes articles and blogs to explode about how WoW is bad.
There have been multiple stories about how players have caused or died because of no rest, playing the game 72 hours straight, not feeding their kids, etc. A lot of these stories are gamer gossip, players don't actually do these things and since one person may have done these things it automatically means everyone else has? WoW has a history and a title of being the most addictive game ever, in some eyes this maybe true, but all games are addictive. Non-players deem the game addictive because there daughter or son can't stop playing and play hours on end like an addiction. Players deem it not addictive and strongly believe that you can get addicted and can play too much, but the game is built around time consuming things. |
